 My name is Nancy Benham and I am a Reiki Master and Reflexology Therapist. I have been practicing Usui Reiki for over a year and have just finished my schooling in Universal Reflexology. My goal is to help people heal, whether it be physically, emotionally or spiritually through the healing modalities of Reiki and Reflexology. My love for animals carries over into my healing arts as well. Animals need healing just as much as humans do. I have participated in an Animal Communication class. My work on animals includes reiki treatments on cats, dogs and horses. I have worked with Second Chance Ranch on the rescued horses.
What is Reflexology?
 Reflexology is a form of natural healing which has been practiced for centuries. Reflexology is one form of Natural Holistic Therapy based on the discovery that there are areas of the feet and hands which correspond to all the systems, structure and organs of the body. This corresponding relationship is known as a reflex. A reflex when stimulated brings about a response in another point. By using specific pressure techniques to activate these points, imbalances in the tissue, organs of the body can be detected and treated to restore body balance.

What is Reiki?
 According to the International Center for Reiki Training in Michigan, Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress and if it is high, we are capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “Life Force Energy”. Through a Reiki practitioner, the energy is directed to the client by the “laying on of hands”. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance which flows through and around you (though each person experiences Reiki differently).
